Each remarkable design is crafted entirely by hand in the Úna Burke Atelier in the West of Ireland and are made using only the finest vegetable tanned cowhides and hardware sourced from both Italy and the U.K. High profile clients include; Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Rihanna to name a few and Úna Burke designs have appeared in Vogue, i-D, Collezioni, Numero, etc. and are stocked in very few cherry-picked boutiques worldwide including Xenses.
About Úna Burke the designer
Úna studied at Limerick School of Art and Design and completed a four year degree in Fashion Design. She worked with several fashion houses before moving to London where she completed a Masters in Fashion Artefact at the prestigious Cordwainers College in London College of Fashion and the University of the Arts London. Her graduate collection won the 2009 LCF MA Design Award for Best Static Collection and she went on to win several more national and international Fashion, Art and Craft prizes. Úna set up her namesake brand in 2010 in London, making both seasonal fashion collections and sculptural art pieces using her traditional leather-working techniques in her distinctly complex constructions. Úna's work has been exhibited in over twenty countries throughout the world and her clients and collectors include New York Designer Phillip Lim, Seoul's Simone Handbag Museum, The National Museum of Ireland and and Nick Knights creative laboratory 'SHOWstudio'.
